I'm a Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Arizona's Lunar and Planetary Laboratory, exploring how planets form around young stars. I am currently funded by NASA through the 'Future Investigators in NASA Earth and Space Science and Technology (FINESST)' program

Who I Am

I'm an observational astronomer passionate about understanding what seems to be one of the universe's most fundamental processes: how planets form. My journey began in India, where I first fell in love with astronomy, and has taken me to the University of Arizona, where I now work on NASA-funded projects using the world's most powerful telescopes.

What excites me most is just how vast the universe is, how every piece of data we collect is something no human has ever seen before, and how planets form in ways that create incredible diversity—so much more than what we see in our own solar system.

My Approach

I believe the best science happens at the intersection of disciplines. My work combines:

  • Observational data from cutting-edge telescopes like the James Webb Space Telescope
  • Numerical simulations to test hypotheses and explain the observations
  • Engineering efforts by helping create upcoming telescopes like LFAST

I'm equally passionate about science communication—making complex astronomical concepts accessible and inspiring the next generation of researchers.

Curiosity

Every time we observe, it's an opportunity to discover something entirely new. The thrill of discovery—whether it's a hidden star or a new physical process—keeps me going.

Representation

As someone who came from India to work in astronomy abroad, I'm committed to showing young people from all backgrounds that they belong in science.

Collaboration

The best science is team science. I love working with brilliant minds from around the world, each bringing unique perspectives to solve complex problems.
